We got a late start leaving the harbor yesterday. One of my good friends had called and said he had a nice pod of porpoise that was holding some ahi so we headed his direction. We were the fifth boat there and most guys already had some fish on board. I decided to try the greenstick and almost immediately had a nice fish eat one of the baits. We boated it and set up again but it took a while to get another bite. There was a lot of pressure on the school as more boats arrived. We stuck it out and ended up catching two more nice ahi on the greenstick. Later in the day the fish stayed deep so we decided to drop cut bait in the school and ended up catching one more. With four nice ahi in the boat from 110-140lbs we called it a day.
Here’s Owen fighting the biggest ahi of the day!
